Sonographer (Ultrasound Technician)

Duties and Responsiibilities:

An ultrasound technician operates special equipment with sound waves to help diagnose people's ailments.  They work directly with patients and physicians. Ultrasound technicians may specialize in obstetric and gynecologic sonography, abdominal sonography, neurosonography, breast sonography, vascular sonography or cardiac sonography.

Salary: $23,000

Education:

There are associate degree programs that take two years and bachelor degree programs that take about four years. People already in the medical field can enroll in a one year certificate program. This is a currently a licensed occupation.

I wouldn't like to be in this field because it doesn't really interest me but I might reconsider it.
