Student Success Statement

“There is no giant step that does it. It’s a lot of little steps.”

ANON

Reflection: This statement means that you won’t always be able to achieve what you want to right away. Sometimes it will take some time. Maybe it’ll take a week or maybe it’ll take a year. But regardless of how long it takes, you will never give up. Just because you don’t reach your goal the first time, or it takes a long time to achieve it, it doesn’t mean you never will. You just need to be patient. For example, if your goal is to invent something, it’s going to take some time before you get it right. Just because you fail the first few times, it doesn’t mean you’re never going to be able to do it. It’s good to make some mistakes. That way you can learn from them and you’ll know what not to do. So when things don’t turn out right. Just keep trying and they eventually will.

Student Success Statement

“Right is right, even if everyone is against it: and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.”

William Penn

Reflection: I think this quote means that we always need to make the right decision no matter what. If we really are about making the right decision, then we will always do it. Even if the right decision isn’t the most popular one. Just because everyone else is making bad decisions, it doesn’t mean you have to. You shouldn’t do anything you might regret just to fit in. For example, if all of your friends are going out and getting drunk, it doesn’t mean you have to. Maybe it might seem fun but bad actions have bad consequences.

Student Success Statement

“The reward for doing right is almost an internal phenomenon: self-respect, dignity, integrity, and self-esteem.”

Dr. Laura Schlessinger

Reflection: I think this statement means that choosing the right can make you feel so much better about yourself. For example, if you find a phone and you return it to the owner, you will feel good about yourself. If someone else found it, they might have kept it. But you chose the right and returned it. It makes you feel good about yourself because people notice that you are a good person and you’re trustworthy. When people have nice thoughts about you, you feel good.

·        Diagnosing and treating problems.
·        Interviewing and observing patients.
·        Developing, selecting, and administering tests.

·        Conducting research and teaching.

Student Success Statement

“Right is right only when entire.”

Victor Hugo

Reflection: I think this statement means that something is only right when it’s done for all the right reasons. For example, if you help someone with a problem, you should do it out of the kindness of your heart. You shouldn’t expect to get anything in return or to be able to do whatever you want and get away with it. Because that means you’re doing it for all the wrong reasons; which makes it wrong. No matter how good what you did for them was. So when you do a good deed, do it for all the right reasons. Otherwise, it’s not right.

Student Success Statement

“That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do, not that the nature of the thing has changed but that our power to do has increased.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Reflection: I think this statement means that the harder we try, the easier it will be. For example, if you want to learn how to play a sport, you need to keep trying. Maybe you won’t be very good at first, but if you try your best, eventually you will. If you are really committed to trying to learn how to do something, you will try and try until you get the hang of it. No matter how many times you fail.
Psychiatrist
Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Designing treatment programs.
·        Conducting psychotherapy sessions.
·        Prescribing potent mental illness drugs.
·        Supervising electrotherapy treatments.
·        Conducting research.
·        Leading a team of mental health care providers.

Average Salary:  $90,000 - $200,000

Educational Requirements:

In addition to completing the requirements for a degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine, psychiatrists must complete an intensive three year residency in psychiatry.

When You Tell One Lie
Paul Hatch
When you tell one lie, it leads to another
So you tell two lies to cover each other
Then you tell three lies and, Oh Brother,
You’re in trouble up to your ears!

So you tell four lies to try to protect you
Then you tell five lies so folks won’t suspect you
Then you tell six lies and you’ll collect
A life filled with worries and fears

‘Cause you can’t remember how many lies you’ve told
And half the things you say aren’t true
And sometime you’ll slip up, you’ll trip up and then
Whatever will become of you?

So you lie and lie without even trying
And each lie you tell will keep multiplying
‘Till the whole wide world will know you’re lying
Then you’ll be
Suspected
Detected
Rejected
Neglected
Disliked
And you should!
When you lie, you’re closing the door
On everything good
