“Every time I’ve done something that doesn’t feel right, it’s ended up not being right.”

Mario Cuomo

Reflection: I think this quote means that if something doesn’t feel right, that’s because it probably isn’t. If you are planning to do something that you have a weird feeling about, you shouldn’t do it because it is probably something bad. For example, if someone is asking you to do something that seems okay to them but doesn’t feel right to you, then you shouldn’t do it because there is a good chance that your feeling is correct.

“I shall pass through this life but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it; I shall never pass this way again.”

ANON

Reflection: I think that this statement means that if we have a chance to do the right thing we should take it. For example, if we see someone in need we should help them. It also means that we should help them because we might see that person again. “You have only to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy in the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience.”

Robert E. Lee

Reflection: I think this quote means that even though it might be hard to do the right thing at times, we should always try our best to choose the right. It also means that when we do what is right we will be happy because we won’t have any problems. One example of this is when some is doing something wrong and another person helps them so that they will do the right thing instead. This applies to me because when I do something right I feel good about myself.

“If it is not right do not do; if it is not true do not say it.”

Marcus Aurelius

Reflection: I think this quote means that if you know something is wrong, you shouldn’t choose to just do it anyway. It also means that you shouldn’t lie because then you have to keep lying to cover it up.
Honest Shoppers

Four football players from Patterson University walked in to a store. They saw the lights on and the door was unlocked so they thought the store was open. So once they found what they were looking for, they went up to the counter to pay. But then they realized no one was there. So they all took out their money and left it on the counter to show that they were paying for what they got. One of them even left coins to pay the tax. These four students showed that they’re very honest and trustworthy. When the owner of the store found out what they had done, he looked for them and thanked them.

I have three messages:

1)   We should never, ever give up.
2)   You are never too old to chase your dreams.
3)   It looks like a solitary sport, but it takes a team.

Diana Nyad, American Swimmer

Reflection: I think that Diana wanted to tell the world that we should never quit just because things get hard. We need to keep moving. I also think she was trying to tell us that if we have a dream, we should never give up on it because of how old we are. Finally, the third message is that just because it seems like it only takes one person, it always takes a team.
