Reflection: I think this quote means that if you have done something wrong, it can be hard to have a clear conscience. Just because you feel good about it when you do it, it doesn’t mean that you always will. Maybe later on it will affect you in ways that you didn’t think it could. Then you will regret doing it. For example, when someone commits a crime, they don’t always feel bad about it at first. But later on, when they get caught, they will regret doing it because they realize how bad it was. And even if they don’t get caught, they feel guilty because they realize that they didn’t make the right choice.
